More Rigid And Lighter
Carbon rims are more rigid than traditional rims, meaning there is less flexibility when you hit bumps. Over time they retain their shape better and need less adjustment to the spokes. Even though carbon MTB rims are very rigid, they are much lighter than standards rims. This rigidity allows a mountain bike rider to corner better, which is why competitive riders prefer them.
Stiffer, lighter to manoeuvre and roll quicker. Bigger tires offer more air volume to provide a more supple ride . Tires provide another inch or two of suspension on impact depending on pressure . In the same way an air volume reducer in a shock changes ride characteristics.
Hookless design is more durable
Because the rim wall structure is simpler. Then carbon fiber will be more continuous. It will be stronger than a hooker carbon rim at the same weight.
